sunday feature: silver textured rings

I've seen wooden wedding bands and hammered metal wedding bands, both kinds of which are beautiful, but these nature-inspired bands are particularly what I wanted to feature this week. These come in three different textures and are made with fine silver. The Silver Garden has generously offered Just Happily Ever After readers free shipping on their orders! How sweet is that? Simply put the keyword EVERAFTER in your message to seller, you have through Monday, August 24th, 2009 to take advantage of this offer.

sunday feature: ahhhh sweet clutches

This week I took the time to interview the designer behind the Eclu clutches. Jami is a Massachusetts-based designer and I really like her designs. The link to her Etsy shop is located at the bottom of the post if you want to see more! Happy Sunday. —Jess

How did you first become interested in designing clutches?
I think I have always been designing clutches. I remember being 11 years old and spending days making purses out of paper and filling them with all kinds of girlie accessories. As a grown up, I started sewing when I couldn't find a small backpack for my daughters. I wanted something unique and fun, but small enough that my 5 year old wouldn't fall over when it was full of her precious things.....so, I found a pattern and that is how my sewing began. Eventually I found myself making those little purses again.

Do you have a favourite colour scheme?
Colors... I go through phases. At the moment grey, brown and cream are my favorites. ( I know, not very colorful )

Where do you draw your inspiration from?
My inspiration comes from everywhere, but usually fashion. I will see a jacket in a vintage store and a particular detail might give me an idea for a bag. I am a home decor magazine junkie and often color combinations or textures will catch my eye and I will think about how I can translate those elements to my little clutches. Right now I am in love with deconstructed designs.

If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go?
Paris. Nuff said.

sunday feature: flittering flutterbys!

Our long-awaited Sunday feature brings you delicate transparent butterfly accents for your cake (or cupcakes!), centerpieces, or however you choose to use them. They've been made rather popular by a butterfly cake in the Martha Stewart magazine, and I can see why! These are created by the talented Kariene of Clear Cut Crafts. Below are a few of my personal favourites, enjoy!

sunday feature: boho chic jewelry

Sparkling swarovski crystals, antique brass, and Czech glass beads make these vintage-inspired accessories notably unique. I recently bought one of these necklaces as a gift and just had to get one for myself too. I cannot tell you how many compliments I've gotten on it, and I love wearing something that isn't mass-produced at a factory somewhere overseas. I'm pleased to announce that Taryn (of Beauty Mark Designs) has so generously offered to sponsor Just Happily Ever After's first giveway! Details below.

Lovely bohemian lotus flower necklace.

These earrings are so versatile!

I adore this gorgeous aqua flower medallion; I have a dress that would match it perfectly.
Enter to win the pretty pair of petal earrings below! Simply stop by Beauty Mark Designs' Etsy shop and post a comment here before Saturday, June 13th at 12am Pacific time on what you adore about their merch! Click here to learn more on how to enter.

I love, love, love these beautiful, garden-esque earthenware creations. They would be perfect in a country, cosy kitchen among the mason jars and vintage hobnail vases. Can you imagine them in your home? I can.

sunday feature: vintage handcrafted wood signs

Each Sunday, Just Happily Ever After will feature an independent shop or designer that demonstrates outstanding work and creativity. This Sunday, we are happy to share with you an Etsy shop that specializes in handcrafted wooden signs. They are beautiful signs, I would love to have one in my house! Be sure to visit their Etsy page (thebackporchshoppe) and see all of their fantastic merch!

This is the sign that first caught my attention, yes, partly because of it's similarity to my blog name, but also because it is a lovely sign. The distressed, vintage look is exactly what draws me to it and the script writing is charming.

These 24" shabby chic letters are enchanting. I would love to see these incorporated in wedding decor or hanging over a fireplace mantle.

I love the shape of this custom wedding date sign. It would make for a great photo op at your wedding and then you can hang it in a special place in your home.
