pretty little things: letterpress after my own heart

I speak from experience when I say that this letterpress (shown below) does not only look pretty but the high quality of the paper and the vivid nature of the colors used are admirably accurate! I was so excited to receive these in the mail. There is something particularly special about sending such beautiful cards, because truly each design is a work of art! I have to admit I have and will probably always have a weakness for quality letterpress. Le sigh.

pretty little things: woodsy goodness

Love this creative, woodsy little invitation! It stems from such a diverse palette. I would love to see how these colors are integrated into the wedding, maybe with some deep red and yellow mums?

pretty little things: dainty clutches

I am finally back after an extended leave of absence during the holiday season. I hope that you all had a lovely December! Today I'd like to bring you a small sample of the beautiful handbags I discovered awhile back and have completely fallen for. They are bold, modern, and so chic. I think one of these would be such a perfect alternative to the typical bridal purse or a fabulous gift for your bridesmaids! Credit: Beegee Bags

pretty little things: the place close to your heart

O France! If I lived or studied in France I would send little notes and packages such as these to my dear friends. I love the idea of using a place that is special to you as inspiration for your special day. It might be a specific place like Paris, your hometown, or something like the beach or a rose garden.

pretty little things: brown paper packages all wrapped up in strings

This invitation suite is full of foresty goodness. I love the deep green and the fun white calligraphy that just pops off the envelopes. Lately I've been a huge fan of tags and baker's twine, it reminds me of the market in a way that is reminiscent of the older days when you received parcels wrapped in crisp brown paper and twine. These are a few of my favourite things!

pretty little things: etched toasting flutes

This would make a beautiful toasting flute. Can you believe how intricate and elegant the etching is? It would look so good in the photos, and you could display them in your cabinent after the wedding and use them on anniversaries and special occasions (I vote everyday). It just goes to show that you don't have to splurge on Vera Wang or Swarovski...though I wouldn't complain!

pretty little things: apples to apples

This placecard presentation is so perfect for an autumn wedding. I love how the colour of the apples echo the red doors standing in the back! As we transition into fall I hope to bring you more and more autumn-inspired weddings, so consider this a sneak peek!

pretty little things: cake stands and all that they are

Cake stands are one of my favourite wedding details but I think it's one detail that is often overlooked in the fluster and rush of wedding planning. I'm a strong believer in the importance of presentation; a cake can be simply amazing but it's the cake stand that shows off it's beauty! I adore antique-inspired silver cake stands, white ceramic stands with ruffly edges, and these grand summery ones below!

pretty little things: paper and little fruits

Note the seersucker fabric and the gocco fruit tag sewn in, so cute and a great demonstration of the fabric invitation pockets that you see more and more in the blogosphere these days!

pretty little things: wedding cake and blossoms

I have an undeniable penchant for pretty things, like typewriter fonts and milk glass vases and bright orange rock candy...they make me smile and sometimes jump up and down before I realize what I'm doing. When I saw these velvety white roses and sumptuous cake I had to keep myself from putting my nose right up to the screen in my attempt to be there somehow!

pretty little things: bring Morocco to your table

Another beautiful tablescape by Amy Atlas, this Moroccan-inspired table has it all. The food is color-coordinated and looks scrumptious I might add, and the bold backdrop simply brings it all together. Great color combination!

pretty little things: eco chic in every way

This JL Designs photoshoot was beautiful and proved that ecofriendly is every bit as pretty (if not more) than one that is not. The vases and sheet tablecloths were all thrifted, the invitations were printed on recycled paper, and the dresses were created using organic and sustainable materials. Bravo!

P.S. The last bouquet is made of balsa wood flowers which can be reused over and over again!

pretty little things: woodsy and whimsical

Heather Balliet of Amorology Weddings recently posted a gorgeous tablescape that I fell in love with. Her work is incredibly detailed, every little part adds significantly to the greater whole. The cute fabric snails are created by Jenn Clark of Pincushion Princess, again, just excellent! Below is a quote from Heather that was so fitting and conveyed her passion for what she does so well:
" I love that moment after a rainfall when you step outside and the sun has begun to shine and the grass is still wet and sparkly and everything looks a little cleaner and brighter than usual. Even the flowers seem more alive! I too see marriage being the beginning of something new, as beautiful as the earth after rain, living and breathing with life, hope, and possibility."

pretty little things: hello! lucky letterpress

I recently received some beautiful letterpress cards from Hello! Lucky a few weeks ago. One set was a retro cherries design with matching cherry red envelopes. The Antoinette set was a Tiffany blue intricate flourish pattern with a pair of peacock feathers in the corner. I love letterpress and here are a few of my favourite Hello! Lucky designs.

Woodland Damask. Gorgeous detail, love the little love birds.

Orchid. As elegant and classic as orchids always are.

New York City Skyline. Very modern, love the font.

pretty little things: umbrellas for those rain-sprinkly days

Today I came across an amazing umbrella vendor that both sells and rents out their pieces. I found everything in umbrellas from beauteous, ruffly contraptions to dainty vintage designs. Take a look below at these gorgeous umbrellas! Also, don't forget to post on last Sunday's Etsy feature to enter our Etsy giveaway!

pretty little things: garden lights and blooms

These are ordinary yet unordinary. Rustic vase alternatives add character to a wedding.

A pretty garden setting is all one needs--imagine this place filled with soft, glorious lighting as the sun sets. Ivory candles and natural paper lanterns would be so romantic!

Lights hanging at different heights make the simplicity of this table wonderfully inviting. Note how they are all different shapes and sizes!

pretty little things: a day at the lake please!

I saw this contemporary dress at White House Black Market the other day and fell in love. How much fun is this?!

pretty little things: free people accessories

As the days get warmer and summer gets nearer I find myself daydreaming of sandy beaches and icy lemonade more and more frequently. Le sigh.

I've always thought hats can make such a statement. Floppy, striped hats? Even better.

These fun plastic shades come in ivory and black, I would wear them practically everywhere.

This edgy headband is made up of feathers and rhinestones, you could easily dress it up or down. Oh, and did I mention it comes in a fantastic, rich, blue-green?

This scarf makes me think beach.
