create: pinwheels
I have a penchant for DIY projects, particularly ones that help couples personalize their special wedding day and make it even more beautiful and memorable. Today's wedding DIY project brings you lovely, whimsical pinwheels. These could potentially be used as table decoration or table cards, pinned to vintage suit jacket lapels, or added to the ribbon-wrapped stems of a delicate bouquet. I would love to see how many different, unique ways that these could be incorporated into a wedding. They would be so fun pinned to a white wall in various colors and sizes. Enjoy!
1) Pick text weight paper and coordinating buttons. Try using different types of buttons of varying sizes or shapes. You will need scissors or a paper cutter, and adhesive.
Cut out two long strips of paper of equal length and width. Thicker strips will give you a larger pinwheel.
2) Accordion fold the two strips of paper making sure that the width of the folds match. Narrower folds create tighter pinwheels, wider folds creat looser pinwheels. Line up one end of the accordion with the end of the second. Use adhesive squares to secure.
3)& 4) Pull the loose ends of the accordion strip around towards each other and adhere securely. The pinwheel will look like a paper circle before you push the pinwheel out and press it down with your finger.
5) Use a button to tightly secure it with as many glue dots as necessary. You may need to weight your pinwheel until the glue dries.

create: handy tags
Hang your tags on each wine bottle or use them as table cards, implement beautiful calligraphy to write each guest's name on the opposite side and drape all the tags on a "tree" of leafy magnolia branches. Click here to download the free template for these tags!

create: ice cream parlor
Recreating an ice cream parlor at your wedding has to be one of the most charming ideas ever! I love the stripes, if you do this, please, please, please get those pink striped cloth napkins to go with it. I feel that it all comes together exquisitely well, if you stick with a general colour scheme you can avoid the "messy syndrome". Mixing and matching is a good thing, and I love it, but there has to be a degree of commonality.

create: travel-inspired invitations
I admire anyone who does DIY (Do It Yourself) invitations and also does them extraordinarily well. It probably helps that the groom is a graphic designer! Nonetheless, pocketfold invitations are one of the biggest invitation trends in the wedding industry and also one of the more complicated types to create. I love that they didn't just make their invitations, but they went all out! They mounted the invites, included all the inserts, lined the envelopes, and used stickers and vintage stamps (an idea I've always loved). I give them a big hurrah!

create: hanging door monogram
These days couples are finding ways to put their monogram on everything, from their invitations to their cake, the favours, and even the aisle runner! I am particularly fond of these hanging door monograms simply because you can bring your own style in how you design and present them.

create: vintage tea tin lighting
I love learning about creative ways to repurpose everyday items and today's example is no exception. To create these shabby chic lights all you need are: tea tins, wire, low wattage lamp kits, pretty crystals, and a drill. I especially adore the light-colored middle one, the pattern on it is gorgeous!

create: whimsical drink stir sticks
You can easily create these with any pattern paper you like. It would be very fun to use black-and-white newspaper, blue swiss polka-dotted paper, or alternating between a luscious strawberry red and a bright yellow! Use your creativity and please let us know what you come up with!

create: yummy candy buffet!
The candy buffet is a huge wedding trend for 2009 and I was delighted to see that someone had created an article (including fun pictures) for what goes into creating one! I especially love the candy buffets that focus on a single color or theme and incorporate that into the table decor. I love the pretty roses that bring a touch of elegance to the table.

create: delightful lace
Lace can be so fresh and girlish. These do-it-yourself projects are definitely note-worthy!
Ruffly corsages are a wonderful alternative to the traditional flower.
This is a timeless white fondant cake, look at the pretty eyelet details!
These creative clutches are so dainty and the perfect size for a lip gloss and compact mirror.
Here a lace design is printed on transparent vellum and crafted into a square, add a tealight or votive inside and you have the perfect luminarias!
