pretty little things: dainty clutches

I am finally back after an extended leave of absence during the holiday season. I hope that you all had a lovely December! Today I'd like to bring you a small sample of the beautiful handbags I discovered awhile back and have completely fallen for. They are bold, modern, and so chic. I think one of these would be such a perfect alternative to the typical bridal purse or a fabulous gift for your bridesmaids! Credit: Beegee Bags

Good morning all! I cannot tell you how excited I am to share my news with you. Today I am launching my new studio, Parcel. My hope is to sell wedding and bridal accessories, invitations and stationary, housewares and accessories appropriate for everyday. I am hoping that you will stop by and take a little peek! I am currently working on getting more pictures of my designs up on the Parcel blog, but I'll occasionally post a highlight on Just Happily Ever After. Cheers and thank you for your support!

sunday feature: ahhhh sweet clutches

This week I took the time to interview the designer behind the Eclu clutches. Jami is a Massachusetts-based designer and I really like her designs. The link to her Etsy shop is located at the bottom of the post if you want to see more! Happy Sunday. —Jess

How did you first become interested in designing clutches?
I think I have always been designing clutches. I remember being 11 years old and spending days making purses out of paper and filling them with all kinds of girlie accessories. As a grown up, I started sewing when I couldn't find a small backpack for my daughters. I wanted something unique and fun, but small enough that my 5 year old wouldn't fall over when it was full of her precious things.....so, I found a pattern and that is how my sewing began. Eventually I found myself making those little purses again.

Do you have a favourite colour scheme?
Colors... I go through phases. At the moment grey, brown and cream are my favorites. ( I know, not very colorful )

Where do you draw your inspiration from?
My inspiration comes from everywhere, but usually fashion. I will see a jacket in a vintage store and a particular detail might give me an idea for a bag. I am a home decor magazine junkie and often color combinations or textures will catch my eye and I will think about how I can translate those elements to my little clutches. Right now I am in love with deconstructed designs.

If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go?
Paris. Nuff said.

lovely: b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l. adornments

Today I have a little something exciting to share...the petite Victoriana headband which is adorned with pearls and crystals was just made available as of Thursday! This means that YOU could potentially be the first to get your hands on it...did I mention that Jennifer Behr designs are lusted over by celebrities?!

These pieces are so posh. Yes, I said posh. I hope you like them as much as I do!

pretty little things: free people accessories

As the days get warmer and summer gets nearer I find myself daydreaming of sandy beaches and icy lemonade more and more frequently. Le sigh.

I've always thought hats can make such a statement. Floppy, striped hats? Even better.

These fun plastic shades come in ivory and black, I would wear them practically everywhere.

This edgy headband is made up of feathers and rhinestones, you could easily dress it up or down. Oh, and did I mention it comes in a fantastic, rich, blue-green?

This scarf makes me think beach.
