create: delightful lace

Lace can be so fresh and girlish. These do-it-yourself projects are definitely note-worthy!

Ruffly corsages are a wonderful alternative to the traditional flower.

This is a timeless white fondant cake, look at the pretty eyelet details!

These creative clutches are so dainty and the perfect size for a lip gloss and compact mirror.

Here a lace design is printed on transparent vellum and crafted into a square, add a tealight or votive inside and you have the perfect luminarias!

sunday feature: vintage handcrafted wood signs

Each Sunday, Just Happily Ever After will feature an independent shop or designer that demonstrates outstanding work and creativity. This Sunday, we are happy to share with you an Etsy shop that specializes in handcrafted wooden signs. They are beautiful signs, I would love to have one in my house! Be sure to visit their Etsy page (thebackporchshoppe) and see all of their fantastic merch!

This is the sign that first caught my attention, yes, partly because of it's similarity to my blog name, but also because it is a lovely sign. The distressed, vintage look is exactly what draws me to it and the script writing is charming.

These 24" shabby chic letters are enchanting. I would love to see these incorporated in wedding decor or hanging over a fireplace mantle.

I love the shape of this custom wedding date sign. It would make for a great photo op at your wedding and then you can hang it in a special place in your home.

pretty little things: free people accessories

As the days get warmer and summer gets nearer I find myself daydreaming of sandy beaches and icy lemonade more and more frequently. Le sigh.

I've always thought hats can make such a statement. Floppy, striped hats? Even better.

These fun plastic shades come in ivory and black, I would wear them practically everywhere.

This edgy headband is made up of feathers and rhinestones, you could easily dress it up or down. Oh, and did I mention it comes in a fantastic, rich, blue-green?

This scarf makes me think beach.

something else: clean and classic white

I love the look of a modern orchid centerpiece, a square vase adds so much to it! Intricate, ceramic vases give any floral arrangment an elegant and high-class tone. We also love the silver mint julep cups and the lush greenery of viburnum and hypericum. My favourite is by far the "Enchanted Evening" centerpiece, it is made up of lovely cream and white roses, asiatic lilies, and alstroemeria.

I have to mention the quaintness of a little white cottage in the middle of a grassy field, with blue skies and wispy clouds overhead. Imagine a small, intimate wedding here...a classic white cake, rustic wooden benches, and a romantic first dance under an oak tree strung up with white christmas lights and paper lanterns. Love it.

pretty little things: cherry blossom favours

Spring is the season for bird and twig motifs and delicate cherry blossom accents. We love these cherry blossom favours from Wedding Things, here are a few of my favourites...

I love these placecards which double as eco-friendly favours. The pink flower on the corner of the placecard can be removed and planted so that your guests can enjoy the wildflowers and remember your special day. Awww.

How cute is this favour box? Perfect for holding a little jar of jam, homemade soap, or frosted monogram cookies.

These favour bags are so pretty and the ribbon adds an elegant touch.

lovely: make your makeup last

This primer potion is especially for your eyelids and will make your eyeshadow last all day, and we love that it comes in such a fun bottle.

This tried-and-true oil-free primer contains grapeseed extract, green tea, and yummy vitamins for your skin!

I'd like to introduce you to one of the most raved about makeup setting sprays out there. I am constantly hearing great things from brides-to-be about how long their makeup lasts when they use this.
